2010 Art of Hope Calendar

2010 "The Art of Hope" Calendar

Through The Art of Hope, Jefferson Center for Mental Health's annual calendar, we are proud to support and showcase artwork produced by Jefferson Center consumers.

Art is a form of creative expression. For some, art is also a coping mechanism that brings strength and hope. Recovery and resiliency is all about reducing the distance between consumer and community, and creating art achieves that in a unique and wonderful way. Through the realization of artistic vision, these artists have made a definitive statement that they are defined by their strengths, accomplishments and skills, and not by their diagnoses.

Now in its fourth year, the annual Jefferson Center calendar has become a rally point for clients eager to demonstrate that the challenges of mental illness do not prevent them from the realization of skilled, unique artistic expression. Calendars created in prior years were such a success that when we requested artwork for this year's The Art of Hope, the response was overwhelming. More than 127 works of art were submitted this year from throughout the Center - our youngest artist was 13. Please join us in congratulating all the artists who submitted work for consideration for this year's calendar!

We are delighted to again present this beautiful and heartwarming showcase of artwork by Jefferson Center clients. Thank you to all the artists for sharing their talents with us!
