Internship Opportunities 2010-2011

The Jefferson Center for Mental Health offers internships for 2nd year graduate students in counseling, social work and psychology, as well as limited internships for bachelor level and 1st year graduate students. Placements may begin in September, January or June.

This year the Jefferson Center anticipates that the following teams will be offering internships:

Adult Services

Intake Services

Adult Out-Patient Services

Wellness Program

Older Adults

Navigation - appropriate for bachelor or 1st yr. student

Summit Center - appropriate for bachelor level student

Child, Adolescent & Family

ROAD/Crossroads

Adolescent Residential Treatment - appropriate for bachelor level student

Mount View for offending youth

Families Together program

Families Together Infant Program (ages 0-3)

Family Services Out Patient

Requirements include:

  1. Background checks, orientation and trainings prior to start date.
  2. Commitment of at least two semesters (30 weeks)
  3. Commitment of 15-20 hours per week
  4. Vacation time to be negotiated according to clinical needs

Interns complete the placement with one treatment team, unless otherwise determined at the time of hire. An individual treatment team may have more than one intern.
