Mission Statement

Jefferson Hills provides a safe, secure and supportive treatment and learning environment, preparing at-risk youth and their families to function more effectively in our communities.

We value:

Treatment that has demonstrated its effectiveness in helping youth and their families develop skills and competencies that allow them to function effectively in the community.

Environments that maximize treatment and learning through ensuring safety, security, and support.

Families, recognizing that families are integral to successful outcomes. We use a sufficiently broad definition to include significant relationships for teens to grow and be productive members of society.

Internal teamwork, external partnerships, open communication, and mutual trust.

Opportunities for challenging, rewarding, results-oriented work in an environment that respects, values, and recognizes the contributions of employees.

Environments that are free from harm and promote optimal opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Clinical practice that is promising and/or evidence-based and appropriate to the needs of the youth and family.

Opportunities for training, skill development, competent supervision, and the tools necessary for staff to discharge their duties effectively.

Results, quality, and continuous improvement, and the use of current technology to be more efficient and effective.

Effective use of resources, understanding that resources are limited and, as the result, must be rigorously managed.

A holistic approach that recognizes individual strengths, cultural diversity, gender responsiveness, and respect for the basic right of all individuals to develop to their full potential.

Community partnerships to establish the provision of services.

Education and learning for both staff and youth.

The protection, restoration, and improvement of public safety by encouraging personal accountability to victims and communities.
