Emergency & Crisis Services

Mental health emergency and crisis response is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Center staff respond on site, in the office, or at a community setting, as clinically appropriate. All treatment decisions are based upon a thorough clinical assessment and follow best practice guidelines of providing care in the least restrictive, least disruptive environment.

Emergency Services
The Emergency Team responds to Jefferson, Gilpin and Clear Creek County residents who are having a mental health emergency. Emergency clinicians also consult with hospital Emergency Department staff in evaluating individuals.

The emergency clinician evaluates individuals to determine if psychiatric hospitalization is appropriate. If an individual needs inpatient psychiatric care, the emergency clinician coordinates the admission with one of several child-adolescent psychiatric facilities. If the individual does not require hospitalization, the emergency clinician assesses and in consultaion with the family determines what services could be helpful and refers them to individual/family/ group therapy, case management, psychiatric, or other services, as appropriate. Emergency clinicians respond to requests from parents, schools, social service caseworkers, Juvenile Assessment Center, probation, courts, hospital emergency rooms, residential treatment facilities and foster parents.

Inpatient Services
The Center arranges for psychiatric inpatient services in a number of hospitals in the community for those individuals who are in need of 24-hour psychiatric inpatient care.
